The recent 6.1 earthquake near Cuba, which was felt in parts of Florida, serves as a reminder that unexpected events can happen at any time. It brings home a sobering reality: calamities can touch any of us.

It is wise to be prepared, but even more important to place our trust in the Lord.

One thing is certain—storms will come, disasters will occur, and life will sometimes bring circumstances beyond our control. Yet, as believers, we have a refuge that cannot be shaken.

I am reminded of the wonderful promise found in Psalm 91:1-2:

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.”

So where are you today?

May I encourage you to draw close to our Lord Jesus. Spend time in His presence. Rest under His shadow. No matter what challenges may come your way, trust God.

The world may be uncertain, but our Lord remains faithful.

I simply wanted to share Psalm 91:1-2 with you today and remind you that our hope is not found in circumstances, but in Christ alone.
