While in Florence, we took in some of the incredible beauty of this ancient city.
Some of the church’s just took our breath away.
Florence is known for it’s spectacular architecture and history.
We could spend many days here, just taking in the beauty, but it was time to head to our first stop on this pilgrimage.
Cindy and I boarded a fast train from Florence to Montefiascone, where our walking pilgrimage will begin.
We found a lovely hotel, The Alta Villa & spent a lovely evening. We also got our very first stamp in our “Pilgrim Passport”.
Today, we will actually join the “Via Francigena” and begin our trek to Rome, a journey of 7-8 days. Here we go!
Well, it’s time to pack up and go find the trail and begin this journey.
