9-30-25 Tuesday 8:59 AM ( Italy Time) -Air Mobile on the Move – Downtown Rome, to St. Peter’s Basilica, Italy- Report submitted by Air Mobile Joe
When Cindy was a young missionary in Haiti, a visitor told her about the Via Francigena. The richness of the history so touched Cindy’s heart and she never forgot it.
Even before we were married, Cindy told me about her desire to one day walk the “Via Francigena”.
Of course over the years and after several motorcycle accidents, I lost the ability to walk and had to resort to getting around on a little blue electric scooter.
No way I could do the “Via Francigena” with Cindy until….I got 2 brand new replacement knees and they work extremely well!

Well, that day came and 8 days ago, Cindy and I set out to walk the Via Francigena.
109.69 miles later, we arrived in St. Peter’s Square!
Every step was recorded on our I-phones & Apple Watches.
It turned out to be quite longer than the stated 100 km, due to the many twists and turns & extra walks seeking lodging. PRAISE GOD, WE MADE IT!!
I also realized that one does not have to be a Roman Catholic to walk this historic trail that so many Christians have walked for thousands of years.
As we walked that trail, we could sense the presence of Jesus with us. Though it was physically painful, it was glorious.

Yesterday, we returned to St. Peter’s Basilica and got our final stamp in our Pilgrim’s Passport. We then received our Testimonium.
Now, we have a few rest days here in Rome before we fly to South Africa for the continuation of this epic journey.
We’ll enjoy this break between missions and take in the deep history of Rome. We’ll also let our sore feet and bodies have some much needed rest and healing.
As I say every single day, and mean with all of my heart, THANK YOU for your precious prayer, love and support!!
