The adventures of Air Mobile Joe

THE FINAL STRETCH

9-28-25 Sunday 7:19 AM ( Italy Time) -Air Mobile on the Move – from Formello to the Outskirts of Rome, Italy- Report submitted by Air Mobile Joe

Today, God willing, our hike ends at the Pilgrim Welcome Desk at St. Peter’s Basilica.  This has been a long journey.  So many steps, averaging 30,089 steps (15 miles) each day for the last 6 days.

We’ve been through breath-taking Italian country side, much dry and hot and other intersperced with roaring water falls.

We put our feet on the same path as thousands (only God knows) of other pilgrims walking with Jesus.

As you look at our many steps, you can see that this Via Francigena was much longer that we thought.  I think that the organizers took a satellite photo from space and calculated the distance.

Of course with all of the twists and turns and occasionally back-tracking, the average of 15 miles per day was much more accurate.

Cindy has a huge blister on her toe and is losing a toenail.  My “replacement knees” have gotten a spectacular workout. We’ve had many hours of quiet reflection along rocky and often steep steps.

Well, here we are on the final distance, about to end this journey at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

It’s time load up our back-packs and hit the trail for this final stretch.

THANK YOU for meandering down this road of life with us.  We so appreciate your precious prayer, love and support!!
