This morning, I came across this wonderful USGS (United States Geological Survey) study on water.  It got me thinking on some pretty simple, basic ways to deal with the problem of clean water shortages.

The problem is HUGE!  

“Approximately 2.1 to 4.4 billion people worldwide lack access to safely managed drinking water. While the WHO/UNICEF estimate sits around 2 billion people, new studies suggest a higher number, as many as 4.4 billion people lack water that is truly safe and on-premises, affecting over half the global population…”

HOW MUCH WATER IS ON OUR EARTH?

Joe’s “Up-Shot” of the study states that there is PLENTY OF WATER on our Planet and it recycles continually.  The main problem is that the dirty or contaminated water needs to be purified.
