Yesterday, I struck a deal with Blake from Mohawk, TN for a square hay-baler and a hay- rake.
This acquisition moves us one step closer to a long-time dream of ours—making our own square hay bales here on the farm.
The equipment may be old, but it is still in remarkably good condition, and we were able to purchase it at a very reasonable price.
Once we get everything serviced and operating properly, we’ll be able to put-up enough hay to carry us through the winter and, Lord willing, even have some extra to sell.
What a blessing!
As I thought about this new venture, I couldn’t help but remember the wise words of my dear Momma:
“Now Baby, don’t forget—you’ve got to make hay while the sun shines.”
I heard those words many times growing up, but soon we’ll be able to literally “make hay” while the sun shines!
Our next challenge is loading this newly acquired equipment and transporting it safely back to our little farm (60 miles away). There will no doubt be a few adventures along the way, but that’s all part of the journey.

I’m sure we’ll also discover some valuable life lessons hidden within that old saying. Favorable opportunities don’t last forever.
When God opens a door, we must be willing to step through it, work diligently, and make the most of the blessings He provides.
Thank you for traveling this road of life with us. Your friendship, prayers, and encouragement mean more than you know.
May God richly bless you, and may you recognize and seize the opportunities He places before you.
